STEM- Building the Future of Football

We have had a lovely morning taking part in the online STEM lesson ‘Building the future of football’ where we learnt about the design of the new football stadium for Everton football club. The lesson consisted of:
- learning about the redevelopment of cities including tourism and careers
- learning about the complex structures of buildings and how they are strengthened
- understanding how leavers are used
- learning about the environmental factors of building new stadiums
- understanding how materials are chosen and how to keep the structure stable
we also learnt about the different people involved in the design of the building and how they make their 3D prototype. The children enjoyed learning about steel and asked many questions to further their understanding.
